The standard L-shape provides essential protection for the vulnerable edges and corners of cartons, panels, and furniture during handling and transit, preventing crushing and abrasion.
Shanghai We Pack Co., Ltd. produces L-shaped paper corner protectors inside an integrated cargo securing and transport protection program. Founded in 2019 as a subsidiary of Shanghai Dreammao Packaging Technology Co., Ltd., we run paper edge protection, dunnage bags and lashing systems through a 10,000 m² facility, 9 production lines, dedicated R&D and an in-house testing team. The L profile is the workhorse of our paper corner protector range: a right-angle paperboard section that carries strapping tension and absorbs impact at the point where palletized loads fail first — the vertical edge and the corner.
As an L-shaped Paper Corner Protector manufacturer, we supply the profile in kraft or white paperboard, cut to length, with leg dimensions, board thickness and ply count matched to the load rather than fixed to one stock size. OEM/ODM work covers dimensions, print, moisture conditioning and export packing.
Working point: a 90° laminated paperboard angle, applied under PP or PET strap, along a panel edge, or against a dunnage bag. Leg length, board thickness and ply count are set by the load, not by a catalogue default.
The family is built around a laminated paperboard angle with a true 90° internal geometry. Both legs can be equal or unequal, which lets the profile sit on a carton edge, a panel face or a steel band without overhanging the load or leaving the corner unsupported.
The same L geometry solves different problems depending on what it is protecting. The table below maps the load types we configure most often.
| Cargo / Load Type | Role of the L Profile | Protection Objective | Complementary Items |
|---|---|---|---|
| Palletized cartons and cases | Vertical corner under PP or PET strap | Stops the strap cutting into carton edges, keeps the unit load square | Packing strap, stretch film |
| Furniture, doors, panels | Unequal-leg profile along the panel edge | Prevents chipping, abrasion and corner crushing in transit | Stretch film, slip sheet |
| Glass, stone and ceramic slabs | Full-height L on both faces of the A-frame or crate | Edge impact and point-load protection | Anti-slip paper, dunnage bag |
| Metal sheets, coils, tube bundles | Heavy multi-ply L under steel or PET banding | Distributes banding load, protects edges from deformation | Packing strap, ratchet tie down |
| Appliances and electronics | Printed L corner on carton corners | Corner drop protection with brand presentation | Stretch film, desiccant |
| Container loads with voids | L profile at carton corners plus void fill | Keeps the load from shifting against the air bag | Dunnage bag, anti-slip paper |
An L-shaped protector is defined by a small number of variables. Getting them right is what separates a profile that survives a long sea voyage from one that collapses under strap tension.
Paper corner protection runs in a dedicated workshop, with material handling, forming, cutting and packing organised by process. Our third paper corner protection factory came into operation in 2023, the same period in which the group was recognised as a high-tech enterprise. Nine production lines across the site support both frequent custom runs and stable large-volume supply.
Quality control runs from incoming paperboard to the packed pallet. Our management system is ISO 9001 certified, and we operate a three-tier verification model: our own laboratory, advanced testing equipment, and third-party institutions such as SGS and TUV. Products are tested against AAR, SGS, TUV and other international transport standards, and printed materials are supported with RoHS documentation.
We develop L-shaped protectors from a drawing, a sample or a load description. The engineering team works on size, load capacity, material and printing, and packaging solution planning is provided free of charge around cargo type, loading method, load requirement, budget and print needs. Minimum order quantity is 100 pieces, which allows a trial run before volume supply.
An L profile rarely works alone. It is the interface between the load and whatever holds it — strap, film or void filler. Because we supply the full set, the profile, the strap and the air bag are specified against the same load case. The wider range covers U-shaped, ring-shaped, interlocking, folded, flat, perforated and white profiles, and U-shaped Paper Corner Protector items are used where the edge needs support on three faces. For container loads with gaps, Dunnage Bag systems fill the void while the L profile protects the carton corner the bag presses against.
A quotation is only useful if the profile is right. These are the inputs we work from when preparing a configuration and price.
We start from load weight, stack height, strap tension and the corner geometry of the carton or panel. Heavier unit loads and higher strap tension need a thicker multi-ply board and longer legs to spread the load; light cartons on a stable pallet can use a thinner profile. Send the load data and we propose a profile, then confirm it with a sample.
Yes. We support OEM/ODM printing on the outer liner, including logos, handling marks and product codes, using RoHS-compliant inks. Print coverage, colour reference and artwork format are confirmed before production, and the minimum order quantity is 100 pieces.
Our management system is ISO 9001 certified, and products are tested against AAR, SGS, TUV and other international transport standards. Third-party test reports can be issued for a specific shipment, and RoHS documentation is available for printed materials.
The L profile sits between the load and the strap or the air bag. Under strapping it spreads tension across the carton edge and stops the strap cutting in; in a container with voids, the dunnage bag presses the load against the L profile, which protects the corner from contact pressure. We specify both against the same load case.
Minimum order quantity is 100 pieces, which supports trial orders as well as large-volume supply. Trade terms include EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP, and the factory sits roughly 25 km from Shanghai Port and 30 km from Pudong International Airport. Lead time is confirmed against the approved drawing, print and order volume.
Yes. White paper corner protectors are produced where appearance or cleanliness matters, and we control moisture content at packing for humid sea freight and cold-chain routes. Waterproof and moisture-resistant treatments are available depending on the route and the cargo.
